The problem with global warming is becoming increasingly acute, year by year. To curb its progression, reduction of CO2 emission is a must. One of the effective measures is the popularization of solar batteries, where its only emission is electricity generated from sunlight.

According to estimates*, if consumption of fossil fuels continues at the current pace, oil reserves will be depleted by 2050, and coal by 2150. Burning fossil fuels to generate electricity contributes a major part of total CO2 emissions, which are the main causes of the global warming process. On the other hand, silicon used in solar cells is abundant worldwide. Silicon is not used up, and no CO2 is emitted in the power-generation process. Put simply,“crystalline silicon solar cells” hold extremely important clues to the prevention of global warming.

“Popularization of solar batteries” is the mission of Space Energy

As one of the players in the photovoltaic industry and a fore-runner to fight against global warming, Space Energy has high targets and expectations of the solar power becoming the common source of electricity. The production volume of solar batteries has rapidly increased with the help of subsidy programs of many national and local governments. From now on, however, the photovoltaic industry must make efforts towards dissemination of solar batteries without relying on national or local subsidy programs. Cost reductions at each stage of the manufacturing processes are essential in removing the biggest obstacles standing in front of the wider use of solar power. Space Energy is undertaking measures directed at promoting the use of solar batteries through the development of more effi cient and low-cost monocrystalline solar wafers, cells, modules and applied products.
